Raimu, a “sacred monster” of French cinema

The card game
Immortalized by a bronze sculpture in the old town of Toulon – on Place Jules Muraire (Raimu's real name was Jules Auguste Muraire) – the card game symbolizes a cult scene from Marcel Pagnol's trilogy.
It features César, played by Raimu, and his friend Panisse. Passersby and visitors enjoy having their picture taken with them, sitting on the two chairs provided in this open-air movie set.
